Our contribution: I-Motion – The Art of Video Mapping
In the creative spaces of the Bilker Bunker in Düsseldorf, our colleague Stephan introduced the participants to the art of video mapping. He explained what it takes to bring buildings or surfaces to life and showed us how art and technology can merge.
Whether in the context of media art, architecture, stage design, events and shows, in interiors or in urban spaces, the possibilities for using 3D video or projection mapping are endless. Thanks to modern and compact projection technology, more and more fields of application are opening up, from static image motifs and computer graphics to animations and videos. With synchronised projectors, even large surfaces or architectures can be impressively staged.
The possibilities are almost endless and can be very different and sometimes spectacular depending on the application, especially when integrating holographic projections, interactive elements such as the use of motion sensors or augmented reality, or when creating interactive and adaptive video installations, e.g. for museums or exhibitions.
In our workshop, you could learn the basics and technical possibilities of video mapping. Methods and applications of visual illusions are on the programme, as are the basics of designing, planning and implementing mapping projects.
