The History of German football

German Football Museum, Dortmund
Exhibition Experience Information Immersion Museum

Powerful images, impressive multimedia, emotional experiences

A journey through time in two halves. The exhibition portrays over 100 years of football history through 1,600 pieces spanning the space of four floors. Visitors get to experience the fascinating world of football with an innovative and immersive display that is sure to evoke plenty of emotion and make fans’ hearts beat a little faster.

The ball is round. And 4 meters high.

The first half is all about Germany and the international football arena. Our highlight is the  2014 World Cup installation, where a giant ball measuring four meters in diameter takes center stage, illuminated by ten multimedia projectors. Nine more are used to create dynamic projections on a media banner installation.

First league in multimedia technology

The second half is dedicated to football played in clubs. A visually stunning wall featuring nine seamless displays takes fans on a fascinating journey of adventure and discovery. The impressive projections in the Bundesliga carousel are guaranteed to captivate anyone watching the game.

Where football history comes to life with a completely new level of intensity and visual brilliance.
